Taking a group of young people on a trip or residential
Youth support staff planning to take young people away from their base for whatever reason must comply with the County Council's policies for educational visits. Guidelines are provided by the Outdoor Education Service.
Each District has a person designated as an 'Educational Visits Coordinator' (EVC) and this person is responsible for authorising any off-site visit. If you are planning an off-site visit you should notify this person at least 4 weeks before the date of the proposed visit using the appropriate form.
For more information about off-site visits contact the Outdoor Education Advisor:

The Outdoor Education Advisers' Panel (OEAP) website offers lots of advice and guidance to support planning and managing risks associated with off site visits and activities - http://oeapng.info/downloads/good-practice/ (this site can also be accessed via Evolve).
